Review of Tin Hearts

I received an arc of this book through a giveaway. I gave this book 4/5 stars!

This book didn't disappoint me. I really love this book, and am so glad to have received an ARC through a giveaway. The book includes bullying and goes through the obstacles one might face after receiving a transplant. It was wonderful to be able to step into someone else's thoughts, and feel roughly the same emotions that the character is feeling. It opened my eyes to how someone who has had a transplant might be feeling. I loved being able to walk through the different obstacles Marlowe went through. The author did a wonderful job pulling at my emotions and causing me to feel sympathy for the character. I usually read fantasies, so reading a contemporary story that could be a true story in some cases, and one that others could possibly relate to, was different for me. The only thing keeping me from giving this book an even higher rating is how difficult it was for me to view her younger brother and mother realistically. I have never in my life seen someone behave as they do in some cases. It made it difficult for me to be more attached to this book. Other than that, the book was absolutely amazing and heart-warming!

This review is also on Goodreads and BookBub!

Synopsis:

When Marlowe gets a heart transplant and a second chance at life, all she wants to do is to thank her donor’s family. Maybe then she can move on. Maybe then she’ll discover who she is if she’s no longer The Dying Girl.

But with a little brother who dresses like every day is Halloween, a vegan warrior for a mother, and an all-out war with the hot butcher’s apprentice next door, Marlowe’s life is already pretty complicated. And her second chance is about to take an unexpected turn...

Review of The Queen of Nothing (SPOILER FREE)

This review is the SPOILER FREE version. I am giving this book 5/5 stars! GUYS I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OVER! I DON'T WANT IT TO END! I really enjoyed reading this book, and I wish there were more books to come. I definitely think that there could be more if Holly Black wanted to make it happen. I live for Jude and Cardan's relationship, and their own personalities. I love these two so much. They are so skillfully crafted and have many layers to their personalities. There is more than just the sad, drunk boy, more than just the strong, power hungry girl. Their relationship grows (in a good or a bad way, you will find out) in this book and it tore me up! Many questions that had been unanswered in the second book are answered in this book. I feel like there are questions I still have that this book brought up, but it's nothing big that will eat at me for all eternity... I like the first half, but I really like the second half of the book. So much happene...

Review of Rebel

I am giving this book 3.5/5 stars. This book was more interesting than Prodigy , but not as interesting as Legend . Maybe more like Champion , in my honest opinion. I wasn't really interested in the beginning. It went slow and didn't feel like it was starting until around half way through the book. The beginning gives a lot of information on Antarctica's technology (which I was glad to learn more about) and I loved seeing how Day and Eden work through their past traumas and relationship struggles. I liked seeing how the Republic is handling things after war and what happens to Day and June after the events at the end of Champion . It goes over different types of relationship tensions and how their lives have changed and are going. I think it could have been shortened at least a little bit though. - SMALL SPOILER IN NEXT PARAGRAPH - We don't see Eden's bullies after the Level system is shut down. I found myself wondering what was happening to them and how the...

Review of Ascenders

Amazon           I received this book from the author for an honest review. I gave it 3.5 stars! I did like this book, but it wasn't completely for me. There were spectacular descriptions on the appearance of different things. I could clearly picture what the author wanted me to see, and it wasn't so much so that I couldn't use my own imagination. I also liked that the author did not streamline the entire book, so it felt like there was more to the story. Personally, I think that it added to the writing quality and was refreshing.  The story was original. I love when the afterlife is played with because we don't know a lot about it. Being able to follow Walker through her experience was interesting and...
