About Me

Hey! My name is Madeline and I am currently a running start student. I foster puppies and kittens for the animal shelter near me, and I love to do arts and crafts, draw, write, read (obviously), bake, go fishing and crabbing, garden, and more! German food is my favorite, and I don't like many drinks, so I usually shoot straight for water. I live in the US and I can be found on BookBub (BookBub), Goodreads (Goodreads), and Instagram (Instagram).

Review of The Queen of Nothing (SPOILER FREE)

This review is the SPOILER FREE version. I am giving this book 5/5 stars! GUYS I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OVER! I DON'T WANT IT TO END! I really enjoyed reading this book, and I wish there were more books to come. I definitely think that there could be more if Holly Black wanted to make it happen. I live for Jude and Cardan's relationship, and their own personalities. I love these two so much. They are so skillfully crafted and have many layers to their personalities. There is more than just the sad, drunk boy, more than just the strong, power hungry girl. Their relationship grows (in a good or a bad way, you will find out) in this book and it tore me up! Many questions that had been unanswered in the second book are answered in this book. I feel like there are questions I still have that this book brought up, but it's nothing big that will eat at me for all eternity... I like the first half, but I really like the second half of the book. So much happene...

Review of Heir of Fire

I am giving this book 4.5/5 stars! In this book, we meet multiple new people, more answers are given, and more questions are left unanswered. I think this is the book where things really start to go down and get interesting. It's a turning point, not just for the characters, but for the story as a whole. Even the feel of the book is different. As I was reading, I felt like Chaol and Dorian's point of view was providing a slice of the past books, Manon's point of view was providing a slice of the future and where the series is heading, and Celaena's point of view was providing the transition from past to future. I really like Manon, more than I had anticipated. She brings something good to the table and the story and I can't wait to see how she continues to develop as a character. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she plays a bigger role in Celaena's story later on! I teared up a few times because OOOHHH MYYYY GOODNESS I am speechless with how the s...

Review of Ruin and Rising

I am giving this book 4/5 stars! I enjoyed reading this book, and I do think this trilogy finished strong. This has to be my favorite book out of the three. The Darkling didn't show up as much as I would have liked, which sucked because he is one of my favorite characters. I wish we could have seen more of him and that his personality (not just the villain side of him) was unpacked more. We got to see a little more of that part of him, but I think there could have been more. (This applies to the entire trilogy) The ending could have been more climatic. It felt lacking in suspense and didn't pull at my emotions the way I would have liked. I felt more emotion when the search for the bird was completed and for what happened after the climax than I did the actual climax. The epilogue pulled at my emotions even more than those though.  It seemed a little repetitive when looking at the trilogy as a whole. Things were continually brought up about the past, the same moments ...
