Review of Shatter Me

I am giving this book 4/5 stars! I didn't expect to enjoy reading this book as much as I did. I wish I didn't put it off for so long in fear that I would be wasting my time. This book surprised me and was executed very well. I don't think anyone could have written this story better! Shatter Me has many wonderful characters that I enjoyed reading. I love how unique each character is and how they have their own flaws and character traits that stick with them, and are represented, throughout the book. There isn't a character that I hate in this book. I either love or feel mutual about each of them. As I read through this book, I felt like I was getting to know each character on different levels, some more personal than others. It allowed me to form a connection with them that I hope I don't regret later on. The plot was easy for me to get into and I couldn't be happier with how the story went. Reading this book never felt like a chore and I didn...

Review of Becoming the Dark Prince

I gave this book 5/5 stars! Throughout the series, I have always wondered what was going through Thomas' head. I especially wondered this when reading Escaping from Houdini. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved reading his point of view. It takes place a little during and after Escaping from Houdini, so it was perfect for me to get a feeling of his side of things during romantic complications. It also allowed me to understand how he will be thinking and his mindset for later on in their journey.  So many of my questions that I had for Thomas were answered, including how deep his love for Audrey truly goes. I wanted to know how he turned off his emotions so well as well. These questions were answered and I couldn't be happier with them.  I think this may be the best novella I have read. It was interesting and I didn't feel like I needed to read this book. I never felt like I was powering through it and trying to stay interested. I was cap...

Review of Shadow and Bone

I gave this book 4/5 stars! This book is original, action-packed, and unpredictable at times. I couldn't be more happy to have finally read this book. I don't see what the hype is all about yet, but I hope that I will soon. Just because I am not head over heels in love with this book doesn't mean that I didn't like this book. I actually enjoyed it and sped through this book faster than I anticipated. One moment I was on page one and the next I was already half way through the book. Each chapter brought something different to the story, and that made me want to continue to read without putting the book down. I wanted to see what will happen next, knowing that the next chapter won't feel like a filler. I love the magic system, and I think it is one of my top favorites by far. There is so much to it that I feel like we don't know yet, especially since the magic is different for everyone. The fact that they each individual Grisha (people with magic) have dif...

Review of Give the Dark My Love

I gave this book 4/5 stars! Give the Dark My Love is easy to read, witty, and original. I couldn't be more happy with this book. At first, I didn't know how I was going to feel about the book. I hadn't heard much about it for a while, but once I read the prologue, I cannot deny how captivated I became. It was really entertaining and felt very short. Before I knew it, I was half way through the book and it only took less than a couple hours.  The characters are absolutely wonderful, and I love so many of them. This is one of two books where I actually liked every character. While Tomus was a piece of work, I can't say I disliked him without a doubt. I think my favorite may be Nedra's sister.  World building was beautifully done. I love the way Revis did this. The book wasn't filled with a whole bunch of descriptions, but wasn't lacking. It was a good balance where I could clearly imagine the scene on my own without struggle. It flowed through my min...

Review of Escaping from Houdini

I gave this book 4.5/5 stars! In Escaping from Houdini, I absolutely adored the magic and tricks! It was everywhere and was even difficult for the characters to not get swept up in.  The characters from the carnival added a special extra mystery to the murder, especially since they all kept their secrets to themselves. Sleight of hand was something everyone apart of the carnival performs in, and was a part of the murder. I think that made it extra special and interesting. I believe that this made it difficult for me to pick someone I think is the murderer.  Each of the different murder stories are different in their own, special way. Each murdered victim is found in different ways from the last books, and I honestly love it. To me, it shows creativity for the author and shows how each individual murderer has their ow n style, which is the truth.  There is a love triangle. I am not a big fan of them, but I think it works in its own way. It was very rea...

Review of Hunting Prince Dracula

I gave this book 5/5 stars! This mystery is even better than the last! There are so many suspects, each with different possible motives. I was so excited to finish this book because I wanted to find out which of my suspects where the murderer. It will truly take you by surprise.  Throughout the entire book, we see different sides of Thomas and learn more about his secrets he keeps locked away. Maniscalco explores his sides to his personality that I don't think were shown much in the first book. We also walk with Audrey through her state of mind after going through the last murder case. Her emotional and psychological stability is as what we would expect, which I honestly find refreshing. It makes her seem more realistic. The development with these two has been remarkable and I wouldn't rather have it any other way.  The plot is interesting in every way possible. I could not tear my eyes away from the pages. I was completely invested in this book and finding out who t...

Review of Stalking Jack the Ripper

I gave this book 5/5 stars! I can't believe I waited so long to start this book! It has everything I love: murder mysteries, romance, forensics...  - SMALL SPOILER IN NEXT PARAGRAPH - The descriptions are everything! They allow you to clearly visualize what is described and basically transport you straight into the book. I wasn't bothered by the descriptions of cutting people open and examining them. Keep in mind that I am not bothered with blood or anything remotely close to that, especially when I am reading it. With that, I do think that people who are sensitive to those things wont mind it either. It also isn't like that all you read in each chapter. I believe I only read it 3-5 times in the entire book, and they weren't going into grand detail.  - SPOILERS ENDED - Lets discuss characters... I am in love with each and every one of them. And I truly do mean that. They were all individually unique, having their own personality characteristics that were ...
