Review of Shatter Me

I am giving this book 4/5 stars!

I didn't expect to enjoy reading this book as much as I did. I wish I didn't put it off for so long in fear that I would be wasting my time. This book surprised me and was executed very well. I don't think anyone could have written this story better!

Shatter Me has many wonderful characters that I enjoyed reading. I love how unique each character is and how they have their own flaws and character traits that stick with them, and are represented, throughout the book. There isn't a character that I hate in this book. I either love or feel mutual about each of them. As I read through this book, I felt like I was getting to know each character on different levels, some more personal than others. It allowed me to form a connection with them that I hope I don't regret later on.

The plot was easy for me to get into and I couldn't be happier with how the story went. Reading this book never felt like a chore and I didn't know I was so close to the end of the book until I had one chapter left. Shatter Me is easy to get lost in and the story sucked me in immediately.

Mafi's writing style is very unique and I really enjoyed something different. It was refreshing and light. While that may be the case, I found some of the repetition of a certain phrase or word to be... bothersome and unneeded. It didn't add to the story at times and I seemed like it was needed to reach a word count. Mafi does do a wonderful job at keeping it to a minimum so the whole book isn't just repetition, which I'm glad for.

- SPOILERS IN NEXT PARAGRAPH -

Let's talk about the relationships. <spoiler> I like the relationship between Juliette and Adam. It doesn't feel forced and I like how they have history together. The moments they share together are precious and I love reading about the two of them. I enjoy their love. Warner on the other hand feels a little forced and I don't really understand why he likes Juliette in a romantic way. They share no history and don't really know each other, yet he wants to kiss her and be with her. Perhaps it's just because he wants to use her powers? I don't really know for sure. Maybe this question will be answered later in the series! </spoiler>

- END OF SPOILERS -

I can't wait to see how this story will destroy me later on. Considering I like every character, I'm nearly positive that my heart will be ripped from my chest later on. I don't know a single author that didn't kill off a character during a series, and I expect nothing less from Mafi. Hopefully, I keep being surprised.

This review is also on Goodreads and Bookbub!

Review of The Queen of Nothing (SPOILER FREE)

This review is the SPOILER FREE version. I am giving this book 5/5 stars! GUYS I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OVER! I DON'T WANT IT TO END! I really enjoyed reading this book, and I wish there were more books to come. I definitely think that there could be more if Holly Black wanted to make it happen. I live for Jude and Cardan's relationship, and their own personalities. I love these two so much. They are so skillfully crafted and have many layers to their personalities. There is more than just the sad, drunk boy, more than just the strong, power hungry girl. Their relationship grows (in a good or a bad way, you will find out) in this book and it tore me up! Many questions that had been unanswered in the second book are answered in this book. I feel like there are questions I still have that this book brought up, but it's nothing big that will eat at me for all eternity... I like the first half, but I really like the second half of the book. So much happene...

Review of Rebel

I am giving this book 3.5/5 stars. This book was more interesting than Prodigy , but not as interesting as Legend . Maybe more like Champion , in my honest opinion. I wasn't really interested in the beginning. It went slow and didn't feel like it was starting until around half way through the book. The beginning gives a lot of information on Antarctica's technology (which I was glad to learn more about) and I loved seeing how Day and Eden work through their past traumas and relationship struggles. I liked seeing how the Republic is handling things after war and what happens to Day and June after the events at the end of Champion . It goes over different types of relationship tensions and how their lives have changed and are going. I think it could have been shortened at least a little bit though. - SMALL SPOILER IN NEXT PARAGRAPH - We don't see Eden's bullies after the Level system is shut down. I found myself wondering what was happening to them and how the...

Review of Ascenders

Amazon           I received this book from the author for an honest review. I gave it 3.5 stars! I did like this book, but it wasn't completely for me. There were spectacular descriptions on the appearance of different things. I could clearly picture what the author wanted me to see, and it wasn't so much so that I couldn't use my own imagination. I also liked that the author did not streamline the entire book, so it felt like there was more to the story. Personally, I think that it added to the writing quality and was refreshing.  The story was original. I love when the afterlife is played with because we don't know a lot about it. Being able to follow Walker through her experience was interesting and...
