Review of Shatter Me

I am giving this book 4/5 stars! I didn't expect to enjoy reading this book as much as I did. I wish I didn't put it off for so long in fear that I would be wasting my time. This book surprised me and was executed very well. I don't think anyone could have written this story better! Shatter Me has many wonderful characters that I enjoyed reading. I love how unique each character is and how they have their own flaws and character traits that stick with them, and are represented, throughout the book. There isn't a character that I hate in this book. I either love or feel mutual about each of them. As I read through this book, I felt like I was getting to know each character on different levels, some more personal than others. It allowed me to form a connection with them that I hope I don't regret later on. The plot was easy for me to get into and I couldn't be happier with how the story went. Reading this book never felt like a chore and I didn...

Review of Becoming the Dark Prince

I gave this book 5/5 stars! Throughout the series, I have always wondered what was going through Thomas' head. I especially wondered this when reading Escaping from Houdini. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved reading his point of view. It takes place a little during and after Escaping from Houdini, so it was perfect for me to get a feeling of his side of things during romantic complications. It also allowed me to understand how he will be thinking and his mindset for later on in their journey.  So many of my questions that I had for Thomas were answered, including how deep his love for Audrey truly goes. I wanted to know how he turned off his emotions so well as well. These questions were answered and I couldn't be happier with them.  I think this may be the best novella I have read. It was interesting and I didn't feel like I needed to read this book. I never felt like I was powering through it and trying to stay interested. I was cap...

Review of Shadow and Bone

I gave this book 4/5 stars! This book is original, action-packed, and unpredictable at times. I couldn't be more happy to have finally read this book. I don't see what the hype is all about yet, but I hope that I will soon. Just because I am not head over heels in love with this book doesn't mean that I didn't like this book. I actually enjoyed it and sped through this book faster than I anticipated. One moment I was on page one and the next I was already half way through the book. Each chapter brought something different to the story, and that made me want to continue to read without putting the book down. I wanted to see what will happen next, knowing that the next chapter won't feel like a filler. I love the magic system, and I think it is one of my top favorites by far. There is so much to it that I feel like we don't know yet, especially since the magic is different for everyone. The fact that they each individual Grisha (people with magic) have dif...

Review of Give the Dark My Love

I gave this book 4/5 stars! Give the Dark My Love is easy to read, witty, and original. I couldn't be more happy with this book. At first, I didn't know how I was going to feel about the book. I hadn't heard much about it for a while, but once I read the prologue, I cannot deny how captivated I became. It was really entertaining and felt very short. Before I knew it, I was half way through the book and it only took less than a couple hours.  The characters are absolutely wonderful, and I love so many of them. This is one of two books where I actually liked every character. While Tomus was a piece of work, I can't say I disliked him without a doubt. I think my favorite may be Nedra's sister.  World building was beautifully done. I love the way Revis did this. The book wasn't filled with a whole bunch of descriptions, but wasn't lacking. It was a good balance where I could clearly imagine the scene on my own without struggle. It flowed through my min...
