I am giving this book 4.5/5 stars! In this book, we meet multiple new people, more answers are given, and more questions are left unanswered. I think this is the book where things really start to go down and get interesting. It's a turning point, not just for the characters, but for the story as a whole. Even the feel of the book is different. As I was reading, I felt like Chaol and Dorian's point of view was providing a slice of the past books, Manon's point of view was providing a slice of the future and where the series is heading, and Celaena's point of view was providing the transition from past to future. I really like Manon, more than I had anticipated. She brings something good to the table and the story and I can't wait to see how she continues to develop as a character. I am giving this book 4.5/5 stars! Character development was great, for Celaena, Chaol, Dorian, Nehemia, and even some of the side characters that are mentioned in this book, such as Archer. I was especially happy with the character development from Archer and Chaol. Archer is a complex character and I hope to learn more about how deeply he networked, how invested he was, what will happen now with what he stood for and was a part of, and more. Chaol, my god, my dear boy, have mercy on him PLEASE. I still don't see why everyone hates him so much.  We learn so much more about their world and how there are so many more mysteries to unravel. I can't wait for all of my questions to be answered. This world is crazy, and I honestly didn't see it taking the path that it did. I am giving this book 4/5 stars! I can tell that I enjoyed this book more than I would have thanks to having read The Assassin's Blade . It mentions too many things from her past that are supported by The Assassin's Blade , which was fantastic!  I don't like Kaltain much, which is why I hope that we learn more about her later on. I want to know more about her motives, her background, and just her story. I feel there is so much to her that is yet to be revealed. I like where this story seems to be going, and how The new people that she meets and forms relationships with are some of my favorites! I'm happy that she has formed connections with others in this book. I think she was lacking a lot of that in The Assassin's Blade . I especially liked how Maas formatted her multiple point of views, and that she did multiple point of views in general. I think it's creative. I'm super excited to continue reading this series! I am giving this book 4/5 stars! This collection of novellas is honestly just a full fledged book. I don't think it can be called a collection of novellas because the events flow from one to the other, making references to the last. It is very much basically a book with small time jumps and a little bit of backstory on the novella(s) before it.  It was a little repetitive in the first two novellas, and I'm glad it got better as time went on. It was starting to annoy me. The writing style flows and it has to be one of my favorites. I like that it isn't too descriptive and lengthy, and I like how light it feels. It is very refreshing. Considering this is my first series that has gone longer than three or four books, I hope the writing style will help me stay interested.  Celaena is such an enjoyable character! I am giving this book 4/5 stars! I spent a few months reading this book because I had to put it down because of school. I don't think that me picking it up and putting it down for a while effected my feelings towards the book overall though. The beginning was a little boring. It started off as a "meh" book, but (at the very least) the last 100 pages were very enjoyable! AND THAT ENDING! I love how the story ended and cannot wait for the next book. I just hope the next one doesn't start off boring too.  I think this story really adds to the Grishaverse world. The author did a great job developing the magic system, the entire world, and the characters. The magic system gets built on, and I'm wondering how this will impact the future of Ravka and its neighboring countries. I hope that we get to see the implications it creates in the next book. Rating: 4/5 stars Kiera Cass is most definitely one of my favorite authors, and she did not disappoint with this book! One of the things I liked was that Hollis is relatable. She likes books like the majority, if not all, of us here do, and her embracing (or at least wanting to embrace) her playful and unladylike side is something that I could relate to. Hollis being wealthy and expected to behave like a proper lady, but then having fun and expressing herself even if it isn't in a proper way was one of my absolute favorite things about her. Hollis is my favorite character and I could not be more pleased with her personality. I think she developed quite a bit as a character throughout the book, and it helped me form a stronger connection with her.
